Mustard Seed

Mustard is an important crop grown in Pakistan as an oil seed crop. These have remained one of the major sources of oil in the sub-continent for centuries. Mustard seeds and its oil is used for culinary purpose. Young leaves are used for vegetable purpose. Its oil cake is used for feeding cattle. Mustard-rapeseed groups includes Indian mustard, Brown and yellow sarson, raya and toria crop.

Chatha Seed Corportion is also conducting regular research and development program of Oilseed Crops. In the same context, Chatha Seed Corporation has also recently approved a variety of SARSON-313 from Government of Pakistan. SARSON-313 is a high yielding variety that can be mature in a short time with a high oil content and is also shuttering resistant.
